Die Autorin
Bettina Musall, geboren 1956, war von 1985 bis 2021 Redakteurin beim SPIEGEL. Lange Jahre schrieb die Germanistin und Politikwissenschaftlerin für die Ressorts Politik, Gesellschaft, Sport und Kultur. Für die Reihe SPIEGEL Wissen konzipierte sie überwiegend gesellschaftspolitische Hefte, zum Beispiel zum Thema Bildung. Außerdem lieferte sie für SPIEGEL Geschichte zeitgeschichtliche Beiträge. Sie ist Herausgeberin der SPIEGEL-Bücher »Englands Krone« (2015) und »Die Welt des Adels« (2021). Heute lebt sie als freie Autorin und Journalistin in München.
