Die Sparquote in Deutschland ist im internationalen Vergleich mit gut 11 % überdurchschnittlich hoch
Die Deutschen nutzen die höheren Zinsen und sparen. Gleichzeitig sinkt die Konsumlaune.
Die privaten Haushalte in Deutschland haben 11,1 % ihres Einkommens im Jahr 2022 gespart – eine hohe Quote im Vergleich zu anderen Industriestaaten. So haben nach Angaben der Organisation für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (OECD) die privaten Haushalte in Italien mit 2,1 %, in den USA mit 3,7 %, in Japan mit 5,4 % und in Österreich mit 8,8 % im letzten Jahr deutlich geringere Anteile ihres verfügbaren Einkommens auf die Seite gelegt. Wie das Statistische Bundesamt (Destatis) anlässlich des Weltspartags am 30. Oktober mitteilt, wiesen nur wenige Staaten höhere Sparquoten als in Deutschland auf, dazu gehören die Schweiz mit 18,4 % und die Niederlande mit 12,7 %.
Sparquote im 1. Halbjahr 2023 in Deutschland auf Vorjahresniveau
Aktuell liegt die Sparquote in Deutschland für das erste Halbjahr 2023 saisonbereinigt bei 11,3 % und damit etwa auf dem Niveau des Vorjahreszeitraums. In den Jahren der Covid-19-Pandemie 2020 und 2021 konsumierten die Menschen deutlich weniger als gewöhnlich. Damals war die Sparquote jeweils im 1. Halbjahr rund sechs Prozentpunkte höher.
Eine Sparquote von 11,3 % bedeutet, dass die privaten Haushalte je 100 Euro verfügbarem Einkommen im Durchschnitt 11,30 Euro sparten. Monatlich entspricht dies einem Betrag von durchschnittlich 260 Euro je Einwohnerin beziehungsweise Einwohner. Dieser Durchschnittswert lässt aber keine Rückschlüsse auf einzelne Haushalte zu. Abhängig von Einkommenshöhe, Lebenslage und Sparneigung gibt es sehr deutliche Unterschiede. Während einige Haushalte viel Geld auf die Seite legen können, bleibt bei anderen am Ende des Monats nichts übrig, was sich für viele Haushalte durch die nach wie vor hohen Preisanstiege für Waren des täglichen Bedarfs noch verschärft haben dürfte.
Aus den hier zugrundeliegenden makroökonomischen Daten aus den Volkswirtschaftlichen Gesamtrechnungen kann nur das gesamtwirtschaftliche Sparvolumen der privaten Haushalte ermittelt – in den ersten sechs Monaten des Jahres 2023 belief es sich saisonbereinigt auf 132 Milliarden Euro nach Abzug von Abschreibungen – und ein Durchschnittswert bestimmt werden.
