Der Jahreswechsel in Italien. Italian Secrets in DNEWS24

Nun liegen die Weihnachtsfeiertage hinter uns, und wir bereiten uns alle auf den Jahreswechsel vor.

Dabei beschäftigt uns eine große Frage: wie begehen die Italiener diesen? Was ist bei ihnen Tradition? Was machen Italiener im allgemeinen am Silvesterabend?

Vielfach verbringt man den Abend in einem Restaurant und speist – wie es für Italiener üblich ist – sehr üppig. Anschließend geht es häufig zum Tanzen – die Kalorien müssen ja wieder abtrainiert werden.

Viele feiern auch zu Hause mit Freunden, es wird natürlich auch dann viel gegessen und getrunken.

Zu Hause spielt man häufig Karten nach dem Essen oder man veranstaltet eine Lotterie – so etwas lieben die Italiener.

Viele Italiener sind sehr abergläubisch. Ein Glaube zum Beispiel ist, dass das Tragen von roter Unterwäsche in der Neujahrsnacht Glück bringt, ganz besonders Glück in Liebesdingen. Und das gilt für Frauen genauso wie für Männer: Kurz nach Weihnachten gibt es in den Auslagen der Boutiquen und Kaufhäuser rote Dessous in allen Variationen: ob nun sexy mit viel Spitze, Seidenpanty oder Baumwolltanga – Dessous in der Farbe Rot sind für Männer wie Frauen Pflicht. Das soll Glück, aber vor allem Liebesglück, im neuen Jahr bringen.

In Italien verbindet man mit Geld Linsen, darum gibt es um Mitternacht auch im allgemeinen Linsen zu essen. Vorher – um Mitternacht – gibt es das Feuerwerk, es knallen die Sektkorken, und anschließend gibt es Linsen mit Cotechino, einer gekochten Schweinswurst.

Und das soll zum Jahresabschluss unser Rezept sein: für viel Glück im neuen Jahr werden wir uns Linsen mit Cotechino zubereiten.

Rezept der Woche

Cotechino mit Linsen

Zutaten (für vier Personen):

250 g Linsen
1 EL Butter
2 -3 EL kaltgepresstes Olivenöl (z. B. https://porta-vagnu.de/produkt/olio-extra-vergine-di-oliva-dop-chianti-classico/ erhältlich bei Porta Vagnu)
3/4 l Gemüsebrühe
1 große Zwiebel
2-3 Stangen Staudensellerie
Cotechino = Kochwurst aus Schweinefleisch (bekommt man fertig im italienischen Supermarkt)

Zubereitung

Zunächst die Linsen ca. 2 Stunden in Wasser einweichen. Die Zwiebel und den Staudensellerie feinhacken. 1 EL Butter und das kaltgepresste Olivenöl vermischen und erhitzen. Die kleingehackte Zwiebel und den Staudensellerie darin anbraten. Dann die Linsen abseihen, leicht salzen und pfeffern und 3 Min. zusammen mit dem Gemüse braten. Dann langsam die Gemüsebrühe hinzugeben und die Linsen auf mittlerer Flamme ca. 40 Minuten weichkochen.

Cotechino ebenfalls weichkochen (s. Packung), in Scheiben schneiden und auf den Linsen anrichten.

Meine Wein-Empfehlung zu diesem Gericht ist der https://porta-vagnu.de/produkt/riviera-del-garda-classico-rosso-dop/, ein vollmundiger Rotwein aus der Region Gardasee.
