Über die Hälfte der Älteren hat Sorge wegen Inflation

DIA-Studie 50plus: Reifere Jahrgänge würden am ehesten auf Urlaub und Reisen verzichten, wenn es im Alter an Geld mangelt / Auto, Freizeitaktivitäten und Haustiere auf den Verzichtsplätzen zwei bis vier.

58 Prozent der Menschen über 50 Jahre würden zunächst auf Urlaub und Reisen verzichten bzw. haben bereits darauf verzichtet, wenn es im Alter an ausreichendem Einkommen mangelt. Von den unter 50-Jährigen wären dazu 46 Prozent bereit. Das zeigen einige Ergebnisse aus der jüngsten DIA-Studie 50plus, die das Deutsche Institut für Altersvorsorge (DIA) kurz vor dem Tag der Großeltern (8. Oktober) vorab veröffentlicht. Die Studie wurde im Auftrag des DIA vom Meinungsforschungsinstitut INSA Consulere erstellt, das dafür eine Umfrage unter 3.000 Personen durchführte.

Auf die Frage nach den weiteren Verzichtsoptionen antworten ferner 38 Prozent der Befragten über 50 Jahre, dass sie bei Geldmangel das Auto abschaffen würden oder dies bereits umgesetzt haben. Bei der Generation unter 50 sind dies 39 Prozent. Ähnlich sieht es bei Unterhaltung und Freizeitaktivitäten aus. 34 Prozent der Ü-50iger und 32 Prozent der U-50iger stecken hier zurück bzw. würden zurückstecken. Für 29 Prozent beider Befragtengruppen käme zudem der Verzicht auf das Haustier in Frage. Kleidung, Eigenheim, Haushaltsartikel und Essen werden als weitere Möglichkeiten der Entsagung genannt. „Diese Zahlen machen deutlich, dass nicht nur die ältere Generation durchaus bereit ist, bei einem finanziellen Engpass im Alter den Gürtel enger zu schnallen und das sogar an erster Stelle bei der Deutschen liebstem Kind, dem Reisen“, stellt DIA-Sprecher Klaus Morgenstern fest.

Die Studie zeigt darüber hinaus, dass sowohl jüngere als auch ältere Generationen die Sorge umtreibt, dass ihr Einkommen bzw. Vermögen aufgrund von steigender Inflation zukünftig an Wert verlieren wird. Eher groß ist diese Angst bei 34 Prozent der Jahrgänge ab 1973, sehr groß bei 22 Prozent. Schaut man sich den jüngeren Personenkreis an, haben bereits 39 Prozent der Menschen unter 50 diese Sorge eher ausgeprägt und weitere 29 Prozent sogar sehr.

Wenn die politisch Verantwortlichen diese Ängste nicht ernst nehmen und entsprechend handeln, werden nicht mehr nur Umfragen, sondern auch die kommenden Wahlen diese Stimmung spiegeln.“

Schließlich halten 37 Prozent der über 50-Jährigen die Gefahr für eher groß, dass eine erneute Krise ihre finanziellen Grundlagen im Alter erschüttern wird. Von einer sehr großen Gefährdung gehen 21 Prozent aus, also gut jeder fünfte Befragte. Im Kreis der Altersgruppe von 18 bis 50 Jahren liegen die Werte bei 36 bzw. 28 Prozent.
